Impact of hormones on adipose tissue

Given that lipedema tends to appear and become aggravated during hormonal shifts such as puberty, pregnancy, post partum and menopause, there is a clear link between hormones and lipedema. However very little is known about the link. It's worth noting that 7 cases [1] of men with lipedema have been reported and they all had low testosterone.
