The FDRS 2017 Conference: Lipedema and Dercum's: Goals for the Future and Tools for Today will be April 28-30, 2017 at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center.  Click here to register and for pricing information. 

The conference opens at 4:00pm on Friday April 28th and concludes at 1:00pm on Sunday, April 30th. Keep in mind that many people will arrive early or stay late in order to make new friends or visit with old ones.

Airport to hotel transit and Parking

There are several options to get to the hotel from the airport:

1) TRAX – above ground public transportation that is at Terminal One at the airport and will drop off at Gallivan Plaza stop, which is a block from the hotel. It is $2.50 per person each way

2) Haroon Transportation – Hotel shuttle that will pick up at the airport (must make a reservation for pick up but not to return) and bring directly to the hotel. It is $12.00 per person each way

3) Taxi – It is approximately $25 each way (up to 3 people, each additional is extra)

Meals & Food

Registration includes a light reception on Friday evening, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday and lunch on Saturday. Details regarding the meals will be posted closer to the conference. In order to keep costs down, beverages will include water, iced tea, hot tea and coffee. There is a coffee shop and restaurant located in the hotel. The hotel is within walking distance of a variety of restaurants.


We will be filming the speakers throughout the conference so choose your seat with that in mind

Salt Lake City Info - What to do?

The hotel is located in the heart of the City Center, one block from the light rail system.  There are a variety of restaurants nearby and a drugstore is 2 blocks from the hotel.

While staying at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center hotel, be sure to enjoy all the local attractions the city has to offer, many located on the Salt Lake light rail system. Check out the exhibits or an IMAX show at the Clark Planetarium, catch a sporting event such as the NBA's Utah Jazz game at the EnergySolutions Arena.

Visit the Utah Museum of Natural History or get in touch with your wild side at Utah's Hogle Zoo where you will find over 1,000 animals from around the world. Enjoy an evening out at the Utah Symphony and Orchestra or shop the afternoon away at two major shopping malls nearby.

Marvel at the world famous Tabernacle Choir at the historic Temple Square and enjoy a part of Salt Lake City's impressive history. For snow lovers, you will find eight world-class ski resorts close by.

Can I bring a friend/spouse/family member?

Absolutely!  This meeting is open to all who are interested in Lipedema and Dercum's Disease. All attendees must pay to register.  No children permitted in the conference.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No need to bring a printed ticket if you have ID. We will have your registration information. However, we do suggest you print a copy for your records. 

What is the refund policy?

Ticket sales are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, please consider donating your ticket back to FDRS. We have a waiting list for those who are unable to attend due to financial reasons. Can I record the conference?

The conference will be professionally videotaped and be available at no charge for conference attendees.  As such, no video or audio taping (including but not limited to phones, video cameras, or any other recording devices) is permitted during the conference.

What if the registration fee is out of my budget?

FDRS does not want financial hardship to keep anyone from attending our annual conference. As such, we are pleased to announce a limited number of financial hardship scholarships to offset registration fees for the 2017 FDRS conference in Salt Lake City, UT.  To apply, please complete the following document: Financial Hardship Application and e-mail the completed application to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .  The application is designed to complete electronically, save to your computer, and attach it to an e-mail.  All applications must be received by December 31, 2016 in order to be considered for the scholarships. Scholarship winners will be notified on or around January 15, 2017
